Jerusalem has been Israel's capitol

since ancient times

Today's Jerusalem stands magnificently on several hills at an elevation of 2,500 feet above sea level. Slowly expanding, the anciently founded city sparkles like a diamond at nighttime spreading out gradually thinning sparks of light further and further past the city limits. Near the center of this modernized municipality is what remains of the rebuilt ancient Jerusalem called the Old City.

How did Israel get its name

To appreciate today's Israel, we must take a brief journey back to civilization's early times. The oldest, most witnessed, and most read history of the world, the Bible, gives us a time honored ancient account of earth's and even of man's creation. It also records the words of many of God's prophets through the ages who were ordained to inform his spiritual children (also created in his image and born into this world with physical bodies [Genesis 1:26-27]) heavenly teachings called "commandments," that when faithfully applied will always bring about the greatest success and happiness possible for mankind.

Abraham [b. 1996 B.C.] who lived 175 years, was one of the early prophets to whom God spoke, and he was patriarch of the religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. His grandson, Jacob (b. 1836 B.C.), who lived 147 years, being extremely faithful to God's laws, was given by God the name of "Israel," meaning "one who prevails or is favored with God." Due to his unyielding faithfulness to God's laws, Israel received a covenant from God promising him great wealth, lands, and a numerous posterity, and that through them "shall all the nations of the earth be blessed." Israel had twelve sons which were the "fathers" of twelve nations that were also called the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

Two Kingdoms of Israel

In this vast "early Palestine" area, also then known as Canaan, each of the twelve tribes were gifted specific land sections and formed a loosely connected nation called the Kingdom of Israel.

King Saul, a stately handsome man, became their first king in 1095 B.C. Ten of the tribes formed the northern part of the kingdom and two tribes comprised the south. The two separate kingdom groups progressed unalike.

Disregarding prophet warnings, the northern kingdom soon became greatly corrupted by idolatry and immorality. After King Saul died, during the reign of the next king, Rehoboam, the ten tribes in the north rebelled against God's laws, broke away and formed their own kingdom. They kept the name Kingdom of Israel and the two tribes in the south became known as the Kingdom of Judah, with Jerusalem as their capitol.

When Israel's Tribes failed to keep Gods laws they lived in bondage

By 720 B.C., in spite of prophets warning them of the consequences of their unrepentant evil behavior, the northern ten tribes of Israel were conquered by the Assyrians who decimated their kingdom by slaughtering and enslaving many and scattering them. A similar fate would eventually come upon the two-tribe southern Kingdom of Judah after they chose to stray from God's laws.

In 586 B.C., due to the two tribe's unrepentant wickedness, the Babylonians captured the Kingdom of Judah and destroyed Jerusalem, slaughtering and enslaving numerous inhabitants and carrying them back to Babylon, as prophet Jeremiah had warned. Their first temple, the costly Solomon's Temple, was burned down and destroyed completely. It took 70 years, around 516 B.C., before Persian King Darius, after conquering Babylon, also assumed power over Palestine, and granted the Hebrew slaves their freedom and permission to return to Jerusalem.

Israel continued to be subjected

to many other powers

Historically, at least ninety times Palestine (Israel) and/or Jerusalem have been invaded, captured, recaptured, or controlled by other powers!

While Persian King Darius held power, in 332 B.C. Alexander the Great conquered Persia, but he did so interrupted by a strange unforeseen event. As his armies swept south along the Mediterranean coast, with innovative skill he captured Lebanon's rich city of Tyre. Before next taking Jerusalem, Alexander sent a letter on ahead to Jerusalem's "king" -- High Priest Jaddus. The letter promised a non-violent capture if tribute being paid to Persia would now be paid to him. Although anticipated, Persia had not yet been conquered by Alexander's powerful forces.

Jaddus refused the offer, explaining it would break his promise to pay tribute to King Darius for Persian protection. Alexander expressed anger by this, and planned to take violent revenge. The Jews fasted and prayed. Jaddus was inspired to have all the Jews dress in white and follow him to a place outside of the city to confront Alexander's army.

Alexander often had vivid dreams that provided directions for his conquering campaigns. As Alexander approached Jerusalem he suddenly remembered a recent impressive dream which duplicated the huge assembly of white dressed Jews unfolding before him being led by Jaddus wearing a gold crown. He met the Jews in peace, befriending them and even cancelling the proposed tribute. Alexander then moved through Palestine subduing territory until reaching Persia where his armies conquered Darius and took that kingdom.

In 301 B.C. the Ptolemaic Empire took over Jerusalem, and then in 201 B.C. the Seleucid Empire captured it. In 164 B.C. the faithful Maccabees rebelled and retook Jerusalem for four years, but then the Seleucid's took it back. It would seem apparent after so many hundreds of years that the Jewish kingdom would forever be perpetually dominated, controlled, pay tribute or taxes, and be harassed by outside powers.

In 63 B.C., Roman General Pompey captured Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Judah's inhabitants then fell under the control of Rome.

By 66 A.D., after many decades of Rome's pagan rule, in spite of King Herod's ongoing work of building the Jews a magnificent temple, although mostly for his own prestige, the Jews fell into much severe internal bickering and turmoil. This spilled over into rebellion and instigating war against their Roman governors.

The uprising and periodic violent warring continued for almost four years with loss of life on both sides increasing. Finally, in 70 A.D., Jerusalem, containing the main population of Palestine, was surrounded and held by a reinforced army in a long siege led by the Roman army Commander Titus. With Jewish leaders unwilling to capitulate to the Romans, 11,000 souls perished in the city due to horrifying starvation conditions.

It took two weeks for the Roman army to batter-ram through two of Jerusalem's thick walls before soldiers could enter which only continued with fierce deadly face to face battles that gradually breached and enlarged the entry points. This was a bloody war with an estimated 200,000 of the force of Judea fighting to their death. Out of an estimated 60,000 Roman armored soldiers, about 10,000 lost their lives. Jerusalem was sacked and almost entirely burned to the ground.

Herod's Temple was burned out and completely destroyed. Decades earlier, Jesus Christ, while standing in Herod's Temple, foretold this temple's future destruction. He astonished his disciples and other patrons present when he replied to admiring comments about the goodly stones, gifts, and costly magnificence of the temple, saying , "As for these things which ye behold, the days will come in which there shall not be left one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down." [Luke 21:6].

Turns out that all of Jerusalem's defense walls, except for one section of the western wall --purposely left as a monument to its massive strength and which became today's famed "Wailing wall"-- were ordered by Titus to be broken down. The three magnificent towers of Herod's Palace Citadel were also preserved to stand as a marvelous witness of Jerusalem's splendor.

After this Jewish-Roman War, 97,000 of the remaining inhabitants were taken into slavery to work in Egyptian mines, fight as arena gladiators,  or be sold in Rome. The abundant rich spoils included many solid gold implements and furnishings from the temple. Some of the wealth gained from the conquest would even provide the exorbitant funds needed to construct the massive new Roman Colosseum.

The Kingdoms of Israel inclusive had been conquered and ruled by many powers. Significant powers had included the Babylonians, Greeks, Arabs, Fatimids, Seljuk Turks, Crusaders, Egyptians, Mamelukes, Islamists, Persians, Ptolemaics, Seleucids, and Romans. Then, from 1517 to 1917, the area of today's Israel along with much of the Middle East, became ruled by the Turkish Islamist Ottoman Empire.

Israel and our modern day era

When World War I ended in 1918 with an Allied victory, the 623-year Islamic Ottoman Empire also came to an end in 1922 as Great Britain took control over what territory became known as Palestine (modern-day Israel, Palestine, and Jordan) plus territory that founded Turkey. However, in the interest of supporting the scattered Jews who had miraculously escaped being among the millions murdered during the Holocaust -- now in their worldwide quest to gather to their homeland -- the British proposed to relinquish control of Palestine in favor of it becoming an independent state.

Throughout Israel’s long history, tensions and warring disputes between Jews and Muslims have existed as they each considered Palestine to be an especially holy place that should primarily belong to themselves. Unfortunately, due to strong religious and cultural differences this situation of hostility and territory control has continued mostly unresolved causing ongoing disputes and wars between these two factions.

Today, 2024, the population of Israel is 9.8 million. 74% of Israelis are Jewish, 18% are Palestinian Muslims, 2.5% are Christians, 1.5% are Druze, and 4% are other, including atheists.

The Gaza Strip (population 2.3 million) and West Bank (population 2.7 million) are technically independent Palestinian territories. About 86% are Muslims, 10% Jewish, and 4% Christian. 65% of Gaza inhabitants are in poverty, and nearly 50% are under age 14. Parts of these territories are controlled and governed by various agreements -- sometimes not honored -- sometimes due to war --  involving Israel, Hamas, and Fatah.

Gaza- Although Hamas has been governing Gaza inhabitants, Israel and the United Nations have much influence and have recently provided funding and building of numerous dwellings for the main populous who are Palestinian Refugees (see photos). Egypt has also recently provided 500 million in housing renewal funding.

West Bank- Governing areas are somewhat spotty, but 61% overall is administered by Israel, with the remainder controlled by Hamas and Fatah's new sub-organization called the Palestine Authority (PA), all terrorist organizations. Israel plans building hundreds of new dwellings mostly for Jewish but also for other refugees.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, called Hamas, is headquartered in the small country of oil rich Qatar. Known as a foreign terrorist organization and also a political party, Hamas has many small branches that infiltrate and indoctrinate socially and politically as well as raise havoc militarily. Hamas has had primary governing control of Gaza since 2007.

It's rival party, Fatah, supported by Iran, dominates the P.L.O (Palestine Liberation Organization) with Turkey harboring some of its leaders. Its creed denounces violence, but it has often acted otherwise and is openly hostile to Israel. Its 1988 charter calls for the destruction of Israel and establishment of an Islamic society in Palestine.

From the end of World War 1 and up until 1948, hundreds of thousands of Jews were resettling from Europe to what had become British-controlled Palestine. The occupying power, Britain, unable to solve the growing influx adding to the increasing turmoil between the Jews and the Arabs, turned the problem over to the League of Nations as a worldwide body of governments. Their voted solution and mandate favored Britain's earlier suggestion calling for "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.” This resulted in Israel becoming an independent state in 1948.

By 1947, the population of Palestine had reached 9.8 million. About half of this number were Arab Palestinians and half were Jewish, with about 150,000 Christian. Jews had an historical connection to Palestine and therefore believed it was their right to establish it as a Jewish State. However, both Jews and Palestinians wanted Palestine to be solely their own homeland. As conflicts increased between these two Palestinian tenants, Great Britain, still controlling the Palestine territory, then asked the United Nations to help.

After much deliberation and consideration of land holdings and boundary plans, on Nov. 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed Resolution 181 calling for Palestine to be partitioned between Arabs and Jews. and setting forth boundaries, conditions, and maps for implementation of the same.

The State of Israel is founded

The Partition Plan simultaneously allowed for formation of the Jewish State of Israel. Although over 75% of the land allocated to the Jews was useless barren desert land, the Arab States members in the U.N. (Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen), being allied with the Palestinian Arabs, vehemently opposed the plan. Arab leaders made it clear that they did not endorse the plan nor accept it. Moreover, they simply did not want any Jews to live in Palestine! The Jews were mostly happy with the Partition Plan as it gave them a defined homeland.

Social and political developments in Europe had convinced Jews more than ever that they needed their own country and that their ancestral homeland was the right place to establish it. However, because the Palestinian Arabs refused to abide by the Partition Plan, this led immediately to a series of complex devastating wars beginning in late 1948 between the newly formed State of Israel and the Palestinian Arabs, called Arab-Israeli War events, which include the following:

1948 Arab-Israeli War [lasted ten months]

Following the announcement of an independent Israel, five Arab nations—Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon—immediately invaded parts of Palestine. As part of the temporary armistice agreement, the West Bank became part of Jordan, and the Gaza Strip became Egyptian territory.

1967 Six Day War

An Arab coalition consisting of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan outnumbered Israel Defense Forces which nevertheless prevailed in this war, more than doubling the amount of territory under Israel’s control. Israel seized the Sinai Peninsula. Gaza was taken from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem taken from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. The crowning success came in seizing the Old City area of Jerusalem from Jordan. The war ended when United Nations called for a cease-fire.

1973 Yom Kipper War

Hoping to catch tsrael offguard, in 1973 The Arab forces of combined Egypt and Syria launched air strikes against Israel on the Holy Day of Yom Kippur. The fighting went on for nineteen days until the United Nations adopted a resolution to stop the war. Syria hoped to recapture the Golan Heights during this battle but was unsuccessful.

2006 Lebanon War

A thirty-four day military conflict in Lebanon, northern Israel and the Golan Heights. Israeli forces invaded Lebanon to suppress the ongoing sporadic rocket attacks on Israeli settlements by Hezbollah, an Islamic military organization.120 Israeli soldiers and about 1,000 Hezbollah fighters were killed in the war. South Lebanon including South Beirut were left in severe ruins.

Periodic wars between Israel and Hamas

Other significant conflicts took place  in 2008, 2012, 2014, 2021 and 2023.

Friction between Israelis and Palestinians is still commonplace. Key territories of land are divided, but some are claimed by both groups. Both cite Jerusalem as their capital.

Identifying Palestine Today

Palestine is not a nation in the traditional sense, but is mostly interlocking territory in the Southern Levant region of West Asia, and not part of Israel. It is mostly inhabited and controlled by the institutions that are associated with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), known also as Fatah, who founded it in 1988 as the "State of Palestine." Its administrative Capitol is Ramallah located near the Egyptian border in Gaza Strip.

Hopefully, the religious and cultural gaps between Israel and Palestine will gradually be softened, and these two neighbors will learn how to implement kindness, trust, and respect for one another.

Obviously, not much can be done as long as Fatah Muslims and their supporters have territorial control and continue to actively plan and follow a terrorist creed calling for the destruction of Israel and a planned takeover establishing only their own Islamic society to inhabit Palestine.

Islamic Muslims true to their religion (not fake trouble-making Muslim pretenders) consider the Quran to be the foundational religious text of Islam and the written word of God (Allah). For an example, Quran, chapter 2, tells clearly how to follow Allah's faithful right ways of living, stating:

"8. Among the people are those who say, “We believe in God and in the Last Day,” but they are not believers.

9. They seek to deceive God and those who believe, but they deceive none but themselves, though they are not aware.

10. In their hearts is sickness, and God has increased their sickness. They will have a painful punishment because of their denial.

11. And when it is said to them, “Do not make trouble on earth,” they say, “We are only reformers.”

12. In fact, they are the troublemakers, but they are not aware.

13. And when it is said to them, “Believe as the people have believed,” they say, “Shall we believe as the fools have believed?” In fact, it is they who are the fools, but they do not know."

It is certain that those who rebel against Allah's true moral teachings have polluted their Islamic religious claims of doing good and being righteous in the name of Allah. Why not root out devilish deceit and instead become tolerant of the noble aspects found not only in Jewish and Islamic, but in all other moral religions as well?

Yet, there are some good strides being taken. In some areas where Arab (or Muslim) and Jewish families are housed somewhat close to one another, the families have befriended one another to the degree that there have been many strong positive associations develop in spite of their cultural and religious differences. In some areas these friendships have blossomed to the point of having periodic neighborhood parties where anyone or any group of a peaceable disposition is is welcome to join.

Instead of selfish, ugly, painful, and destructive warring, wouldn't it be wonderful if more people would emulate our planet's super-heroes and spend time promoting true happiness and healthy progress in all of our lives? This could become a reality -- a blossoming element of joy adding so much to our world. Let us hope that someday soon it will happen!

May 2025 UPDATE
on the present conditions surrounding the

Arab-Israeli War

Hamas, also known as the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), has long vowed in its charter to obliterate Israel (the Jews) from existence, take their lands, and to create their own Palestine State governed by their own Islamic law. Shockingly enough, their so-called Islamic law, enforced by hate and violence, clearly undermines and violates the true written Islamic law and Muslim teachings of Islam as previously elaborated above.

This long running religious war between Palestine (identified today only as Gaza and most of the West Bank, both mostly controlled and governed by Hamas), and Israel, was ignited decades ago by militant Islamics — identified today as terrorists — those who do not honor the true Islamic religion which includes kindness and love of neighbor.

Hamas and Hezbollah military usually operate disguised and hide among populated areas including schools and hospitals. They don’t care that countless horrific war casualties are occurring monthly on hundreds of innocent people due to their quarters set in or very near to populated areas, mostly not Jewish. These horrific causalities are due to Israel’s retaliation to the ongoing explosive rockets launched randomly by Hamas into Israeli towns and neighborhoods which destroy homes, schools, hospitals, etc., wounding and killing thousands of Israelis. Israel is obliged to defend and protect its citizens by its best strategic efforts to eliminate Hamas. This is extremely difficult as Hamas uses the innocent but dense Gaza and West Bank populations as a human shield, resulting in excessive bloodshed along with infrastructure destruction.

Surely it is only due to extremist propaganda that has infiltrated many university professors and created other so-called freedom fighting organizations that lead them to actually believe much false exaggerated war history. Therefore, many Americans and university students completely blame Israel for the war and excite protests against all Jews and even all of Israel!

Do you hate Jews too?! Hate divides and incites people to war; brotherly love unifies and builds happiness and peace. Consider the real truth behind the abundant propaganda put out by many Hamas controlled organizations that point to Israel as the main aggressor responsible for this inhumane bloody war. [A June 10, 2025 update on how pervasive, powerful, and successful this ongoing propaganda campaign to blame Israel for this bloody war still continues on with even more fervor, and is found immediately below this update you are now reading]

The Jewish religion also promotes love and peace. So exactly what is it that justifies anyone to hate and persecute any Jews?

Students and others who blindly and ignorantly support Hamas terrorists should be embarrassed for their failure to search out the real truth for themselves. Yet, due to such abundant powerful propaganda they believe that they are the ones educated about this awful war! Unfortunately, they continue to foolishly support a powerful hate and terrorist movement disguised as righteous liberators!

Sadly, due to the recent powerful “blame Israel” propaganda, many prominent American universities have likewise fallen into the trap of this fake "freedom for the underdog movement." They now see Hamas and its affiliates performing a noble freedom fighting war, and the PLO not as terrorists, but those that should win the war!

Fortunately, President Trump has recognized the discriminatory evils of “Jewish hatred” that have seeped into our nation to fuel anger and cause so many Americans — mostly students in some of our major universities — to blame Israel for the continued bloodshed and ongoing war. Even many university leaders think we should hate Israel and glorify Hamas! Have they not read the Hamas charter?

Therefore, to support non-discrimination and to restore peace, Trump has called for these major universities to immediately disallow such blinded discrimination and the unruly campus demonstrations tied to it, including campus camp-ins, and other violent and discriminatory acts committed against Jewish students and Israel. As most of these universities have surprisingly done little or nothing to comply by ridding these evils and enforcing this non-discrimination effort which has been fomented by powerful propaganda and blinded social pressures, Trump recently discontinued and froze some vital federal government grant monies slated for these universities.

Among the highest funded federal grant universities are: Johns Hopkins and MIT, which will lose billions in funding, losing about 60% of what was usual. Next in line, Harvard, which loses 2.3 billion, Columbia loses 400 million, and Penn 1.75 million. Twelve other major universities are being warned or sanctioned to lose millions of grant dollars as well.

Until a university complies and fully rids its campus and faculty of such racial discriminatory practices and illegal protest activities, these monies will be withheld. Further non-compliance may soon require legal action directed at university leaders and faculty due to unresolved ongoing racial discrimination.

Following is an example of how powerfully this propaganda has impacted Harvard University:

This summer, Diane Buttu, a self-defined “international human-rights lawyer” is slated to teach Harvard classes related to “moral liberation and freedom.” Buttu was formerly a spokeswoman for the PLO, and has previously praised the psychopathic Hamas headman Yahye Sinwar for his actions, and even called Hamas “a positive movement for freedom and liberation.”

It is indeed shocking that Harvard, a now questionably highly respected university, should even consider allowing this borderline treasonous and racially discriminatory class for credits to be offered! Looks like Harvard’s "would be" federal grants might be frozen forever.

Obviously, Hamas and its disguised supporting organizations — some funded and operating underground disguised as noble freedom fighting entities — must be rooted out if we are to regain a powerful progressive higher education schooling system. Don’t we need schools that will produce intelligent and morally enriched university educations with zero tolerance for racial discrimination? How can such shocking misinformation about Hamas be taught and promoted as authoritative knowledge in some of our top universities? It is only through Hamas' powerful propaganda institutions and deviant social networking that this has become possible.

So, who is actually funding this war instigated by Hamas, Hezbollah, and various other rebel groups? Answer? The major part, if not all, is through Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps IRGC). All of these mentioned terrorist factions are different branches of the IRGC. Iran is providing the funds, the weapons, the leadership, and many war support activities through many other linked organizations. Without Iran's support, these terrorist groups would become weak and ineffective, lack leadership, and would eventually fail to achieve their immoral objectives.

Meanwhile, here in the U.S., some swift revolutionary reforms are surely needed soon in order that we, as Americans, can truly be proud of our top universities again.

Please help spread the inside truth about this ongoing war. Help others recognize that Hamas is only fighting to liberate themselves at the expense of all others. The blood of this war will surely be a curse upon Hamas forever for their evil actions. Their long held charter, fully supported by Iran to eventually eliminate all Israelis, take their lands, and establish their own Palestinian State ruled by their own corrupt dictatorial pseudo-religious government is terrifying. May these fundamental truths be sent out to all the world. The internet is a powerful tool. We hope that you will personally use it to help spread this truth!

                           END of Discover Israel Update

UPDATE:  News content taken from The New York Post, June 4, 2025, headlined: “Hamas didn’t need chat rooms to direct campus protesters: It was all openly pre-programmed”

According to federal documents, anti-Israel protester Tarek Bazrouk, who instigated protests at Columbia and other universities, was in direct touch with Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida. It’s a fascinating story, but let’s be honest: Hamas’ cheerleaders at Columbia and across the West didn’t need chat-room instructions to parrot the terrorists’ propaganda.

At Columbia, one can basically major in anti-Israel propaganda, although they call it “Middle Eastern Studies.” And, historically, dozens of “activist” groups on and off campus have been working for decades to “educate” students in radical worldviews: There are: National Students for Justice in Palestine, Within Our Lifetime, US Palestinian Community Network, and the Palestinian Youth Movement, to name only a few.

These anti-Israel groups are being funded via costumes, banners, flags, and outfits, some furnished by the Tides Foundation (an active funder of left-leaning non-profit organizations with assets of 1.4 billion); but most being generously funded by wealthy left-wing Westerners like the Soros family and others that push liberal left wing social issues, or Shanghai-based Neville Roy Singham (a very wealthy socialist benefactor of far-left causes who ironically also finances Chinese government media propaganda worldwide).

What is less known, and is hidden amid a tangle of nonprofit groups and shell companies, is the fact that these anti-Jew organizations allow and even propagate hate and violence against Israel as being a tool necessary to gain sympathy for the innocent Palestinians and promote Hamas. The congressional House has been investigating these “charities” for some time now along with nine nonprofits including the New York-based People’s Forum (The People’s Forum is a socialist organization that acts as project incubator. It has collaborated with a number of radical-left and Marxist philosophers and activists. With strong anti-capitalist orientation, the People’s Forum has been the recipient of over $18 million through the donor Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund, and also through many wealthy donors and companies residing in the elitist  Westchester County, New York. Few realize that this funded anti-capitalist propaganda has been flowing openly for decades.

Major demonstrations against Jews and Israel began the day after the major Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023 which left 1,200 Israelis dead. Hamas literally broadcast the atrocities, which they proudly filmed with their GoPros — yet Israel’s retaliation to their deadly attacks was yet to happen --- it was weeks away!

Nevertheless, none of this whitewashed war news stopped the propaganda; protesters instantly painted Hamas already as the victim. Nor did it prevent Western media —continually steeped in the same propaganda — from routinely presenting Hamas’ wartime propaganda as newsworthy facts.

Here are some other revealing facts tied closely to this news article:

The ADL, or Anti-Defamation League, is a non-profit organization based in the U.S. Founded in 1913 to combat anti-Semitism and other forms of discrimination, it investigates organizations for their discriminatory policies, especially those who have questionable tax-free non-profit status. It is also known for its advocacy for defending Israel against anti-Semitism and has been active in promoting the resolution of various social justice issues.

Some of the many organizations who (shockingly enough) have adopted racially discriminatory policies or are strongly linked to them, are tied into a non-profit known as Wespac. Wespac sponsored a total of 15 groups related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, far more than for any other cause. Due to non-profit protective law, it is unclear how much and where Wespac receives its primary funding or how many groups it sponsors in total. However, some known groups sponsored are: the US Palestinian Community Network, the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, the Palestinian Feminist Collective, the Palestine Freedom Project, and Adalah-NY. All of these collect donations through Wespac online. Wespac has also sponsored National Students For Justice in Palestine (SJP) since at least 2019 and Within Our Lifetime since 2020, according to archived web pages.

“While Wespac is not an exclusively anti-Israel organization, the significant number of groups and projects it fiscally sponsors, which have repeatedly propagated anti-Semitism or called for violence against Israel, is deeply troubling,” an ADL report says. Moreover, “Wespec’s administrative support of these groups helps ensure that inflammatory and at times anti-Semitic language remains an issue in a notable segment of left-wing spaces.”
